Beautiful town of Temecula – specifically the famous Temecula Valley Wine Country. This region is the most similar to Tuscany in Italy and is home to over 50 wineries. Of course the best (and most responsible) way to explore some of them is via a sidecar! SideCars also offers a number of other tours and even has specially designed sidecars that fit two passengers for date night. Carter Estate Winery & Resort My SideCar tour started from where I was staying at the expansive Carter Estate Winery & Resort. Inspired by the romantic movie, A Walk in the Clouds, founder Jim Carter began his winery career by creating the award-winning South Coast Winery Resort & Spa. After years of honing in on the perfect wine country experience, he then opened up Carter Estate in 2015. Situated amongst 112 acres of California Certified Sustainable Vineyards, the estate offers up only 60 romantic guest bungalows and allows you to fully enjoy Temecula whether it’s wine tasting or relaxing in their deep soaking tubs.*image via Carter Estate Winery and Resort Facebook Jim Carter’s winery story truly begins back when he was a kid in Ohio gathering seeds from his maple tree and planting them around his relative’s yards. Who knew a fun childhood pastime would become his career? Next on my SideCar tour, I stopped off at Robert Renzoni Vineyard where I met with Olivia Blue, one of the few female winemakers not only in Temecula but in all of southern California. What makes their offerings unique is that they offer up blended wines. Taking advantage of their setting, which includes a number of different microclimates, soil types, and elevations, Olivia is able to expertly experiment and mix wines to create completely unique offerings. Pair your tasting with some food at their onsite restaurant, Mama Rosa’s Trattoria. On our last stop, we visited the lively Fazeli Cellars Winery! This is a place that blends the ancient traditions of Persia with contemporary culture of southern California. Sample the wine here while dining on mouth watering Persian fusion cuisine and taking in the beautiful Modern Moorish architecture. Europe is considered home to old world wines, but the oldest wine regions actually belong in the Middle East. Old Town Spice & Tea Merchants in Temecula You know you’re on a trip with me if we’re stopping in at least one tea-related place on our journey. This road trip was no different as I made sure to visit Old Town Spice & Tea Merchants before leaving Temecula. As you might guess from the name, this shop is located in Old Town Temecula, which feels like stepping back into the Old West of the 1880s. With over 350

App, CrossOver either downloads it or provides a download link. You then follow a few prompts and CrossOver creates a bottle (prepare for a lot of wine-related terminology) that runs your app. When CrossOver works, it works beautifully. For example, I installed the Windows text editor Notepad++ with a few clicks and opened it instantly. When CrossOver doesn’t work, however, you’re in for major frustration because its menus are cluttered with obsolete information—you can’t actually use the menus to install many of the apps it lists. For instance, I tried to install Axialis IconWorkshop, the best Mac icon editor that I’ve found (which also happens to be Windows-based), from CrossOver’s menus. No matter what I tried, the Install button remained grayed out. Eventually, I was able to install the app manually, but doing so wasn’t easy and I don’t recommend you try that process.Another disadvantage of CrossOver is that for its bottles to run, the CrossOver app must be installed. In other words, you can’t simply copy a bottle for one app to another machine; you have to install CrossOver on the second computer, too. On an encouraging note, CrossOver has seen early success at running Windows 11 apps.Wineskin WineryIf you’re willing to do some of the work yourself, you can use Wineskin Winery to create standalone containers that run Windows apps and function like any other macOS app. You can even copy one of these self-contained apps to another Mac and run it there without any extra steps. Wineskin Winery, created by a programmer who used the screen name doh123 and now maintained by a programmer with the screen name Gcenx, is a work in progress and not well-documented. Nonetheless, below is a step-by-step guide to get a Windows app running with Wineskin Winery. In this example, I’ll install the app I mentioned earlier, Axialis IconWorkshop. I’ve been using the app on a Windows machine to create icons for my Mac system, but Wineskin Winery enables me to use it directly on a Mac. The same basic method for creating the self-contained Axialis IconWorkshop app applies to any Windows app you want to run.First, download Wineskin Winery from Gcenx's GitHub page. Scroll down to the “Manually installation” section (it’s ungrammatical, but it works) and click the Download link. Depending on your macOS settings, your computer may automatically extract the Wineskin Winery app. Otherwise, you need to open the download to extract it. Move the extracted app to your Applications folder or any other convenient location.Next, right-click the Wineskin Winery app and choose Open. Your Mac will tell you to move the app to the trash; ignore the message and press Escape. Right-click the app and choose Open one more time to

Several located in the outskirts of the city, in the Maipo Valley. Perhaps the most famous one is Viña Concha y Toro, with its legends of the ‘Devil’ guarding the wines. Aside from admiring its plantations and tasting its wines, you can see its colonial house with a private park that includes a lagoon. For more information, you can check their website: Another good option is Viña Undurraga. This classical winery has an amazing wine museum, a beautiful park, and a delightful tour. Additionally, the winery donates part of its sales of Aliwen bottles around the world to the Reforestemos Foundation, which restores, protects, and promotes the reforestation of degraded ecosystems, recovering high ecological value areas such as national parks and reserves and generating a culture of awareness of the importance of native trees. Find out more at: A third great option is Viña Santa Rita. This is also a very old and beautiful winery with a prominent place in history. One of its signature wines is called 120. The story goes that during the Independence War, the Chilean leader hid in the house (in its cellars) along with 120 men, after fighting against the Spanish army. When the royalists came demanding for them to come out, the owner of the estate, Doña Paula Jaraquemada, refused to give them up. Today, you can enjoy a broad variety of activities. You can find out more about the winery here: the vineyards and the winery, the grounds of Santa Rita also encompass a hotel, a restaurant, and the Andean Museum, which houses two floors of bilingual exhibits (Spanish-English) on pre-Columbian cultures that once inhabited Chile. Entrance is free. The museum opens from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. For more information, you can check its website: This Maipo Valley winery tour is good value and visits three wineries while also doing some sightseeing. To see a less-visited wine area, you could also take a Casablanca Valley wine tour.13. Get out into nature in the Cajon del MaipoJust on the outskirts of Santiago (but still in the city limits) you have a very extensive network of hiking trails, so you actually never need to leave the city to go for a hike. However, for a wander deeper in the Andes, you should head southwest of the city to the Cajon del Maipo. This is ahuge area with countless trails, but one great one leads up to the Monumento Natural El Morado which is a hanging glacier adjacent to a little lake. Nearby, you have thermal baths at Baños Morales, a cute town in San Jose de Maipo, and the beautiful Embalse del Yeso damn and reservoir. It’s about a 2-hour
