Quick Start Guide to doubleTwist Player v3 & AirSync syncing (AirSync Play Store Purchase)doubleTwist Sync supports wireless syncing over WiFi using AirSync. This is the QuickStart guide for purchasing AirSync from the Play Store as an app. If you purchased doubleTwist Pro v3 as an app from the Google Play Store, please see this help page. Or if you purchased the doubleTwist Pro upgrade from within the doubleTwist Player app, please see this help page. Since AirSync uses WiFi, please make sure that your Android device is connected to the same network as your PC. Your PC can be using either a wired Ethernet connection or a WiFi connection but it needs to be on the same network segment so it can communicate with your Android device. Please check that your network doesn't block communication between devices. This is a very common security restriction for university, hotel, and corporate networks. Also, for best results, please make sure that your Android device has a very stable connection with a signal strength of "Excellent" or "Very Good" and a link speed of 30Mbps or faster. Otherwise, the sync connection can be lost or sync speeds can be very slow.Purchase AirSync & Install doubleTwist Player from the Play Store.Install doubleTwist Sync on your PC.Making doubleTwist Sync icon always appear in notification area.Pairing Android device to PC.Item selection and syncing using doubleTwist Sync.Verifying synced items on device.Download and install the AirSync app for your Android device. The Android screenshots may vary from device to device.Search for “doubleTwist Player” in the Google Play Store. Select "AirSync" to proceed with purchasing the app. Tap on the price to start the purchase process. Tap on "ACCEPT" to bypass the Permissions screen.Tap on "BUY". You may need to enter your Play Store account password to proceed. Once the purchase has been validated, the installation process will continue. Tap on "OPEN" to launch the AirSync app. If you do not have doubleTwist Player installed, please tap on "Get the free app". The Play Store entry for doubleTwist Player will appear. Tap on "INSTALL" to download and install on your device. Tap on "OPEN" and then tap on "ALLOW" on the initial dialog so the app can access files on your device. Next, on your PC, please download the doubleTwist Sync installer.After downloading, run the installer. You may get a UAC warning screen. Click “Yes” to continue.The initial install screen will appear. Read the linked agreements and then click on the checkbox to signify your agreement. Then click on "Next” to continue.The installer will now download and install several components. This can take a very long time if your internet connection is very slow.Depending on what OpenCandy offers were offered and accepted, you may also see additional installation screens. Please review the dialogs carefully and choose the appropriate options for your system. After all components are downloaded and installed, the "ready to twist!" screen will appear. The two available options are to run doubleTwist Sync after installation and if doubleTwist

How do I Reset the Library Database?If doubleTwist Player isn't showing artwork for songs/albums that have artwork or if songs can't be played, the library database might be out of date or corrupted. You can try rebuilding the library database to see if this help resolve these problems.Access the Nav Drawer by tapping on the 3-horizontal line "hamburger" icon in the upper left.Scroll down and select "Settings".Scroll down and select "Reset doubleTwist".Resetting doubleTwist will rebuild the library database. This means that ratings and play counts that have not been pushed back to iTunes via PC AirSync will be removed. Ratings for MP3 and M4A files will be restored as these ratings are saved to the POPM and RATE metadata tags when rated in doubleTwist Player. Playlists will also be restored from .m3u backup files. No songs will be removed/deleted. After the reset, doubleTwist Player will re-index and re-extract metadata from all files.After indexing, artwork will be extracted from the files.Once indexed and extracted, all artwork should now be shown and all songs should now be playable. If some songs are not appearing after a reset, please use the Scan Local Folder option to manually scan the location where the files are stored. Guide to doubleTwist Music Player Settings on AndroidTo access Settings, please tap on the doubleTwist icon in the upper left and the menu will slide out. Then tap on "Settings". General SettingsPlayer SettingsAirSyncUPnP/DLNAPodcastsAdvancedGeneral Settings"Lock Screen" will enable the custom doubleTwist lockscreen. This option is disabled by default on all "pure Google" devices such as the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 as they offer integrated lockscreen controls provided by the Android operating system. On all other devices, this option is enabled by default so that the custom doubleTwist lockscreen appears in addition to the system lockscreen. On the doubleTwist lockscreen, you can swipe on the artwork to advance or rewind tracks. "Lock to portrait" will ensure that the doubleTwist Player interface will remain in portrait orientation only and not switch to landscape orientation if you tilt your device sideways.Use "Name:" to enter a name for your device for easy reference when using your device and your computer for syncing. Set "Default screen:" to make that section appear when you launch doubleTwist Player. This option is only available to doubleTwist Pro users. On "dual storage" devices like the Samsung Galaxy S4 with both internal user storage and external memory card, the "Storage:" setting will appear. This lets doubleTwist Player know where your media files are stored and which location to transfer files to during syncing. Available options are "Internal" and "Memory card". This will also set which storage location appears when syncing. Please see this help page for more information. This option will not appear for devices that are not "dual storage" with both internal user storage and external memory card. Player Settings"Scrobble to Last.fm" will enable the sending of track playing data to your Last.fm account. If you do not have the Last.fm app installed, no information will be sent."Headset/Car controls" will allow you to control doubleTwist Music Player using a headset with button controls or with a Bluetooth controller. Single-click to play/pause, double-click to advance, and triple-click to rewind.
