Check of your MapInfo page on the nuvi should show the current maps and should be checked. Note that the nuvi 650 can not use the clone technique to install the entire North America map to the SD card as the map file size will exceed the nuvi 650's 2GB file size limit.Europe SD card mapFirst, let me say that rather than buying a new Europe on SD card map from Garmin or Amazon, you can probably find a used card available on eBay at a lower price. Just be sure that you're buying a genuine Garmin-made SD card and map.Yes, Garmin told you the correct answer. A Garmin-made Map-on-SD-card will only work when the map file is on the original Garmin-sold SD card. Copying the file to another SD card or trying to install the file to a nuvi will result in a Can Not Unlock Map error and the map will not accessible to the nuvi. The good news is that the Garmin-sold SD card map can be swapped between Garmin devices and used. Note that the Garmin Map on SD Card will not offer special features like Junction View, Voice Recognition, etc.The Garmin Europe on SD card has a map file larger than 2GB and therefore it can not be accessed by your nuvi 650. It will work with the nuvi 2797 or other newer device you buy in the future, but as stated earlier, it will not offer Junction Views, etc. If you want a device with a map of Europe and Junction Views, etc., you will need to buy a Garmin nuvi with the Europe map preinstalled. You also asked about the download version of City Navigator Europe. It can only be used on one device. If attempting to use it on a second device, the map will be locked and not useable. Like the Europe on SD card, adding a Europe map to a US-nuvi will result in a map of Europe but without Junction View, Voice Recognition or other features.Good luck with your 650 update and travels in Europe. You. For now you can do your planning while the device is connected just select the CN Europe NTU 2014.40 maps in BaseCamp.CurtHi Garmin/Curt, do you have an update? I tested 3 different TransAtlantic devices (preloaded with Europe and North America), all NTU compatible, to see if Garmin Express would install the non-NTU maps to the computer, to no avail. All three unlocks were for the NTU maps and NTU maps were installed. I suggest you delete the existing Europe maps from the locations below then use the Advanced Option feature in Garmin Express to re install the Europe maps. Delete existing Europe 2014 maps from all locations:Use Control Panel/Programs and Features to Uninstall the "Garmin City Navigator Europe NT 2014.40"Delete the files Garmin Express uses to install the maps to the computer. Deleting these will force Garmin Express to download them again. Before testing each device I deleted this folder so Express would have to start from scratch.Win 7 & 8Press the Window Key + R Type %programdata%Click OKOpen the Garmin folderOpen Core Update Service folderRight-click the MAP-EU-2014-40 folder and choose DeleteAlso check that Garmin Express is up to date. v3.1.8 was released in the last couple of days and the automatic update feature in Garmin Express is not enabled yet. How do I update Garmin Express?Curt Deleting these will force Garmin Express to download them again. This is rather incompatible with my original post...I really do NOT want to have to download it yet again - I am one of many people still with boadband speed which many regard as 'slow', and with a download limit! but it looks like Express has wasted lots of my time and my download allowance in downloading the wrong map.I will probably just not bother until there is the next map release,. This discussion has been locked. You can no longer post new replies to this discussion. If you have a question you can start a new discussion I have a "Garmin Zumo 350 LM" which was supplied with my Ducati in 2014. It comes with lifetime europe wide maps "City Navigator Europe".Although it is old, it works perfectly and I have received a map update every quarter with no problems (many times).Today I just received the update for 2023.1 and it installed with no errors. Also a Garmin Express update.I originally had "City Navigator Europe 2022.20"I updated another Garmin 660 Sat Nav fine and also my PC ("City Navigator Europe 2023.10" which is the full Europe region) but the Zumo 350 now has just the "City Navigator Central & Eastern Europe" map which is a smaller region and unfortunately does not include my home! so I need to fix this.My problem is how can I get back the full Europe map back on to my Zumo 350 LM? i.e. "City Navigator Europe 2023.10"I have read support pages showing how to change region using the "Change Map" button above the "reinstall map" button in Garmin Express.Unfortunately I don't have the "Change Map" button in Express, see screenshot below.I am using Garmin Express 7.13.1.0 on Windows 10I have an empty 16GB SD card inserted. As reported here so keep following that threadGarmin - CityNavigator South America NT 2025.20

Hello all,I hope someone can help. I even have a case with Garmin Support opened but unfortunately there is no solution yet.I seem to have two problems in parallel, and I will try to keep the explanation short.1). In my latest attempt to update the map on my Drive 61 is detected that CN Europe NTU 2022.20 is avalable. But if continuing to start the installation it asks me to select specific region only. And on another note, the install map to PC option seems gone too. In one of the attempts I installed the Western Europe region hoping that later it will allow me to change to FULL using the Change Map option. But it does not.I have tried with both Toshiba 32GB SD card (formatted as FAT32 of course), and with Samsung 16GB card. Still the same.I always had Europe full map since buying the device in 2017. And I want that back.In one of my desperate attempts I even installed Basecamp (that I do not use) hoping it can at least confirm the SD card is OK or allow me "sort of manual" installation of maps of my choice (by downloading to PC first). In Basecamp it lists the device as Garmin Drive 61 + SD card. So it looks recognized and usable.2). What is also strange is that right now it is also offering me to install America maps. Something I have never asked for, and have no need of. So even if my Garmin product is entitled, I never asked (or bought) America maps, and I never had them offered in Express previously. In desperation and after agreed with Garmin Support I even deleted the gmapprom three files from the .System in internal memory, reinstalled Express from scratch and tried again. No difference, CN Europe is detected, but the full map is not offered for installation.I read on other forums that Sandisk cards are most compatible but before spending money on new SD card that I do not need, I would like to clarify for sure if it is card issue, and not Express/Garmin issue. Because the America thing confuses the hell out of me... At one point it was offering only America to me, without having Europe installed at all. Like it "detects" me from another region in some Garmin/Express DB.At times like this I miss the "old times" where you could simply download and copy the map files yourself. I don't need this automated Express "no control" process. Just give me the IMG and I will copy it myself. Express seems to have gone mad on me offering me the America instead of Europe. And when I get it to say Europe, I can never get the full map that I need.At one point I did factory reset too, I have tried Express 7.4 and also 7.10 (I think those were the versions). I tried removing gmapprom manually and can try it again if it helps.Anyone that thinks can help? It would be appreciatedComments
