2025-04-17Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 7 I've changed from Winamp 2.91 to Winamp lite 5.531. I've tested some things. Now I have a few questions.1. Why does in_mp3.dll 4.4 sound different than in_mp3.dll 2.91? I think 4.4 sounds very filtered/worse? I've used the same output plugins for both.(DS, Asio, KS)Things like Equalizer, FL3EQ, Dither, 24bit, etc. are turned off for testing. 2. Why does in_mp3.dll 4.4 use more cpu power than in_mp3.dll 2.91? 3. How is the quality of the new Constant-Q EQ? Does it cut the high frequencies above 16kHz? Spectral Techorator Join Date: Jun 2000 Posts: 36148 1. Probably because the 'Fast Layer 3 EQ' was enabled by default in 2.91 (in_mp3 config -> Decoder tab)2. No idea. It doesn't here. Winamp 5.53 actually uses less cpu for me than 2.x ever did.3. Comment Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 7 Originally posted by DJ Egg 1. FL3EQ was turned off in Winamp 2.91 and 5.53. Are there any new filters in use? It sounds more polished. I don't know yet if I like it or not.2. Very strange. I was able to move all the components and added a couple SSD's successfully. My mobo is an ASUS P8H61-M Pro (original one that came with the generic desktop).I have recently downloaded a temp monitoring software: Open Hardware Monitor ( and been keeping an eye at the temps in different components, it even gives me the temps of my HDD and SSD's.These are the readings I am getting and was wondering whether they are OK:+- ASUS CM6330_CM6630_CM6730_CM6830_M11AA (/mainboard)| +- Nuvoton NCT6776F (/lpc/nct6776f)| | +- CPU Core : 29.5 53.5 (/lpc/nct6776f/temperature/0)| | +- Temperature #1 : 86 87.5 (/lpc/nct6776f/temperature/1)| | +- Temperature #2 : 94.5 98.5 (/lpc/nct6776f/temperature/2)| | +- Temperature #3 : 31 33 (/lpc/nct6776f/temperature/3)+- Intel Core i7-3770 (/intelcpu/0)| +- CPU Core #1 : 27 54 (/intelcpu/0/temperature/0)| +- CPU Core #2 : 27 49 (/intelcpu/0/temperature/1)| +- CPU Core #3 : 27 48 (/intelcpu/0/temperature/2)| +- CPU Core #4 : 27 52 (/intelcpu/0/temperature/3)| +- CPU Package : 27 54 (/intelcpu/0/temperature/4)+- NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 (/nvidiagpu/0)| +- GPU Core : 28 52 (/nvidiagpu/0/temperature/0)| | +- Fan #1 : 974 1223 (/lpc/nct6776f/fan/0) (rear Fan)| | +- Fan #2 : 1530 1783 (/lpc/nct6776f/fan/1) (CPU heat sink-Fan)The Fractal Case came with 3 fans: rear, top and front.I connected the rear fan to the mobo, the top and front fan to the PSU through the case fan control switch (3 positions: 5v, 7v and 12v). They run at constant speed depending on the switch voltage. Are these temps OK? Feb 18, 2010 30,587 324 107,640 #3 compare them to the one on this software on the sensor parts and if they are the same your fine They look quite similar. The one I was worried about is this one:+- ASUS CM6330_CM6630_CM6730_CM6830_M11AA (/mainboard)| +- Nuvoton NCT6776F (/lpc/nct6776f)| | +- Temperature #2 : min: 94.5 - max: 98.5 (/lpc/nct6776f/temperature/2)These are degrees Celsius. They seem kinda high! Feb 18, 2010 30,587 324 107,640 #4 what hwinfo report on this ? #5 what hwinfo report on this ? The readings from HWInfo show:Nuvoton NCT6776Fmotherboard 31.0 Cauxiliary 95.0 Csystin1 31.0 Csystin2 31.0 Csystin3 31.0 CCPU 29.0 Cis that reading of 95 C normal? Feb 18, 2010 30,587 324 107,640 #6 all the temp are good this auxiliary must be the same thing i have with another name that show -128 c on my system , stay
