ALTERNATIVE SSL hardware I always thought "fast att" engaged is 3ms and switched off is 30ms. Don´t know what waves made of this.cheers This is my understanding, as well.To the OP: do you understand that attack time doesn't specify a delay in the onset of compression, but rather, the amount of time it takes for the compressor to reach a particular amount of gain reduction? This is a commonly-misunderstood thing. If the SSL manual says "'fast atk' started at 3ms at 20dB GR", that likely means it takes 3ms to achieve 20db of reduction. It's possible that the Waves manual is measuring attack time for a different amount of GR. For example, 1ms might specify the time it takes to achieve just 10db of reduction. In any event, I'd trust the SSL manual about SSL equipment over the Waves manual about emulations of SSL equipment. I can hear this sometimes because my snares sometimes just have too fast an attack and I start to lose the punch. Its frustrating sometimes the same settings give different results on the same source from session to session. I guess I couldComments

Its frustrating sometimes the same settings give different results on the same source from session to session. I guess I could of course just be consistent with the volume of my samples but then again, I'm still very curious about what sort of speeds the Wave SSL is getting at. Any info on this? Sorry I've only used the Hardware and the Pull on the fast attack module and then the ABCD Master Buss, as you mentioned though some guys must be using waves plugs? How to Get SSL Native for Freeīehind every song you’re singing in the car, there’s an expensive array of equipment used in the mix. If you’re someone who is awed by using the SSL channel strip and bus comp in every mix and is an integral component in your workflow, then this emulator is worth a look. On the right side, there are the standard controls – release, attack threshold, ratio makeup gain, and a huge glowing button to bypass the comp. It comes with a large VU meter to the left, along with an additional side-chain filter as well as a dry/wet knob. Like that channel strip, it appears stunning, especially on a high-resolution screen such as a retina display. It lets you select to use the filters as well as the EQ to alter this side-chain sound. this plugin just brings them into the contemporary and design.Īt the bottom of the screen, there’s a presets menu and an easy method to choose the path of the signal that lets you switch between the EQ, dynamics, and filter sections. There’s not much to say about SSL emulates that hasn’t been discussed. They are workhorse units and can pay for themselves many times over in an office environment. This bundle is the most authentic version of tools with the track record of a reputable company and history. If you’re struggling difficult to decide which one you want then perhaps an official emulator by the original creators would meet your requirements for authenticity. #Waves ssl e channel free download software There are numerous hardware and software emulators of their famous channel strip and bus compressor that have made it difficult to make a clear option. It is no secret that the name SSL stands for quality, reliability, and tradition and is an essential part of nearly every engineer’s toolbox. I like it better than the Waves E-Channel simply because the Waves model of analog hardware hasn’t been upgraded since its introduction in 2006. Its Native Channel Strip has this very wide sound and is by quite a long way the most music-oriented EQ section you’ll ever get access to. It is possible to boost 8kHz up to 10 decibels and
